Ramona community,

As we begin the 2017-2018 school year, we are excited to meet all of our new students and welcome back our continuing rams.  We hope to see you all during our spirit days on August 21 and 22nd.  It is my great pleasure to humbly serve this community – my community – as the new principal of Ramona High School.

Though I am sure we will meet soon if we have not yet met, I want to offer you a bit of background about me.  On a personal note, I was born and raised in Mexico and at the age of 10 my parents decided to immigrate to the country of opportunity.  It was at Jackson Elementary that as a 5th grade student I learned to speak English as my second language.  Although we constantly moved homes in the pursuit of better employment for my parents, Riverside has always been the place we called home.  With pride, I can say that I am a product of the Riverside Unified School District and it is because of a teacher that I am where I am today – this is my impetus for my service in education and to our students.  I now have 2 beautiful daughters who also attend schools in RUSD, my older most recently attended Sierra Middle School and is excited to be a Ram this upcoming school year.  I would be remiss if I did not tell you about my better half – my wife Jennifer – she is a teacher as well and 6 years ago she decided to call Sierra Middle School her home.  She too is a product of our schools in RUSD, we are both proud graduates of John W. North High School.

This year marks my 15th year in the greater Ramona High School community and in the Riverside Unified School District.  For 9 years, I had the privilege to serve at Sierra Middle School as a teacher.  An opportunity arose and it was a great pleasure to serve as the Dean of Students at Arlington High School during the 2012-2013 school year.  Most recently, during the last 4 years I have been extremely fortunate to serve at the Home of the Rams as the assistant principal in every office; discipline, attendance and counseling most recently.

This year brings new and exciting opportunities for all of us here at Ramona High School as we continue to work on building the World’s Greatest High School.  To continue our work in this endeavor, we will focus on three values:

  1. We are what we believe – what we believe unifies us.
  2. All students have futures.
  3. Every day is an opportunity to become the World’s Greatest Me.

We ask that you continue to believe in us as you entrust us with your children each and every day.  Most importantly, we ask that you assist us by supporting your child to hold these values.

Sincerely,

Victor Cisneros
