Riverside Arts Magnet Ramona High School

Creating Your Future Through the Arts

Currently, Ramona houses the only Visual and Performing Arts Magnet program, Riverside Arts Magnet, in Riverside Unified School District. This program offers talented students every opportunity to succeed in their life’s passion through creating a challenging, diverse, creative, unique, and nurturing environment. The Riverside Arts Magnet at Ramona High School personalizes each student's path through a variety of courses in the Visual Arts (Art and Design, Culinary, Ceramics, Drawing and Painting and Studio Art) and in the Performing Arts (Dance, Digital Media, Photography, Film, Guitar, Instrumental Music, Piano, String Instruments, Mariachi Ensemble, Theater, Theater Tech, and Vocal Music). These courses offer a variety of levels that build on each student’s talent, character, critical thinking, academic potential, sense of community, and confidence to enable students to take responsibility for their own learning and future.

The Magnet program offers students schedule planning, academic support, grade monitoring and tutoring.  Magnet students must reach out and engage in their Arts Community through community service hours.  Students are given resumé and portfolio-building mentoring, in addition to career and college path planning.  College application assistance, audition technique master classes, and college scholarships and financial aid research are added benefits of Magnet.  The Riverside Arts Magnet prepares our scholars for a wide array of real-world experiences and preparation for interdisciplinary collaborations.

Artist development is key in our commitment to Ramona’s Visual and Performing Arts Magnet students.  Our A-G Courses specialized in instruction geared towards the creative process of research, design, and presentation.  We offer master classes with professional artists, Gluck Fellowship Mentors, Guest Artists, and give our students plenty of solo and small ensemble performance opportunities.  We engage regularly with our local Galleries, Museums, Riverside Philharmonic, Local Colleges and Universities. The Magnet provides its members with a wide array of enrichment classes, career exploration, performance opportunities, internships and partnerships with local and professional organizations. Upon graduation Magnet students will have had the experiences they need to compete globally in whatever college or career they chose.
